飄雪的冬天的博麗神社。
雖然曾經因地震而倒塌，但如今已完全恢復原貌。

就在那樣的某一天，發生了一件讓博麗神社的巫女博麗靈夢大吃一驚的事情。
那就是在博麗神社附近突然升起的白色柱狀物，也就是間歇泉。
平時只要發生什麼事，她就會前去解決，但這次的事情卻是讓她
在驚訝的同時，也感到高興的事。

間歇泉原本應該會融化積雪，並在周圍湧出無論人類或妖怪都能療癒身體疲勞的溫泉。

――然而，靈夢的樂觀預測落空了。
從間歇泉中湧出的並不只有溫泉水。
接連湧出的異形之物。

那是地靈——居住在地底的居民。

[About the operating environment for 東方Project]
In general, if your PC runs Windows, the current titles can be launched,
but for older titles such as 東方紅魔郷, 妖々夢, and 永夜抄, they may not start properly depending on the conditions at launch.
In that case, you will need to install an older version of DirectX or change settings in each game's properties.
(You can look up how to change the settings and what is required on the internet, but please handle it at your own responsibility.)

Hakurei Shrine in a snowy winter.
Although the shrine had once collapsed due to an earthquake, it has now completely regained its original form.

Then, one day, an event occurred that surprised Reimu Hakurei, the shrine maiden of Hakurei Shrine.
It was a white column suddenly rising near Hakurei Shrine, a geyser.
Normally, if something happened, she would go to resolve it, but this event was something that
surprised her while also making her happy.

The geyser was supposed to melt the snow and bring forth hot springs around it that could relieve the fatigue of both humans and youkai.

--However, Reimu's optimistic expectations were wrong.
What gushed from the geyser was not only hot spring water.
Monstrous beings kept emerging one after another.

They were earth spirits--those who live underground.
