Notice Regarding Shipments to the United States (Customs Duties & Taxes)

AKIBA-HOBBY ships orders internationally from Japan to the United States.
当店では、日本からアメリカ合衆国へのご注文商品を国際配送しております。
■ Customs Duties and Import Taxes
In the United States, customs duties (Customs Duties) and state/local taxes (Sales Tax, Use Tax) may be charged.
From August 29, 10:00 AM JST, EMS shipping was suspended, and all U.S. orders are now shipped by DHL. Customs duties are collected upfront at checkout and included in the order total.
Shipping costs are higher than before, as they include prepaid duty handling fees, customs declaration fees, and related carrier costs.
アメリカ合衆国では、商品受取時に関税（Customs Duties）、州税・地方税（Sales Tax、Use Tax）が課される場合があります。
日本時間8月29日10時より EMSの受付が停止されたため、以降の米国宛注文はすべてDHLで発送され、関税は ご注文時に事前徴収 され、注文金額に含まれます。
送料は、関税前払いの手数料や税関申告料金などが含まれるため、従来より高くなっております。
■ Customer Responsibility
The final duty amount is determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The prepaid estimate may differ from the actual assessment. In such cases, AKIBA-HOBBY will not request additional payment, nor will refunds be issued.
Customers are also responsible for responding to any inquiries from CBP.
最終的な関税額は米国税関・国境警備局（CBP）によって決定されます。
そのため、ご注文時に事前徴収した金額と実際に課される金額が異なる場合があります。その場合でも、当店から追加請求を行うことはなく、差額の返金もいたしません。
また、お客様はCBPからの問い合わせに答える義務があります。
■ Request to Customers
Although it is uncommon for carriers to request additional payment upon delivery, if fees are charged under law or carrier policy, they are the customer’s responsibility.
Import procedures and regulations vary by region. Customers must confirm and handle all import requirements and costs on their own.
配送会社が受取時に追加請求を行うことはほとんどありませんが、法律や運送会社の規定に基づいて請求される場合はお客様のご負担となります。
通関や輸入規制は地域により異なります。輸入に関する手続きや費用はお客様の責任にてご確認・ご対応ください。

■ Disclaimer
The August-only measure applies only to shipments that, as of August 29, 10:00 AM JST, had not yet been dispatched. For those orders, AKIBA-HOBBY covered related costs and shipped them with duties prepaid by DHL. In addition, EMS orders placed before that time were switched to DHL at AKIBA-HOBBY’s expense.
This does not apply to duties or fees incurred before this change.
AKIBA-HOBBY is not responsible for customs clearance, duties, taxes, delays, confiscation, returns, or disposal. Customers, as importers of record, bear all responsibilities under local law. No compensation will be provided for damages, costs, or lost profits.
「8月限定の措置」 とは、日本時間8月29日10時までに未発送であった米国宛注文 について、アキバホビーが関連費用を負担し、関税元払いでDHL発送したこと、さらに同時刻までに受け付けたEMS注文を当店負担でDHLに切り替えて発送したこと のみ を指します。
これ以前に発生した関税や手数料の返金は対象外です。
当社は、通関手続き、関税・税金、遅延、没収、返送、廃棄について一切責任を負いません。お客様は輸入者として、現地法令に基づくすべての責任を負います。
また、当社は損害、費用、逸失利益に対する補償を行いません。
❓ FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q1. Will I need to pay anything when my package is delivered?
A1. No, customs duties are now collected upfront at checkout. However, if additional fees are required under law or carrier policy, they are the customer’s responsibility.
Q1. 受け取り時に支払いは必要ですか？
A1. いいえ、関税はご注文時に事前徴収されます。ただし、法律や運送会社の規定に基づき追加の手数料が発生した場合は、お客様のご負担となります。
Q2. What happens if CBP sets a different duty amount than the prepaid estimate?
A2. The prepaid estimate may differ from the final amount determined by CBP. In such cases, AKIBA-HOBBY will not charge additional amounts, nor will refunds be issued.
Q2. 事前徴収額とCBPの最終決定額が違った場合はどうなりますか？
A2. CBPにより最終的な関税額が異なる場合があります。その場合でも当店からの追加請求や返金は行いません。

A3. We cannot guarantee that this policy will remain unchanged. Rules and requirements are subject to change at any time by carriers or CBP. Please check for updates regularly.
