Deus ex machina also has the aspect of being an ``absolute presence'' that casts a shadow on the story as a stage setting. In the MV, in the scene where the lyrics of "Mechanical Eden" appear, you can see the silhouettes of tall buildings in the animal world. It's also interesting that Ex Machina is assigned to the hellish Eden of the world of beasts, rather than the Deus of the Princess. If the human spirit side is the main character, the stage itself is the final boss, a true reverse protagonist correction.
