[Report] We attended the East Coast's largest anime event, "Anime NYC 2026"!

Hello, everyone. This is the AKIBA-HOBBY PR team.
AKIBA-HOBBY exhibited at “Anime NYC 2026,” the largest anime convention on the East Coast, held in New York, USA, from Thursday, August 20 to Sunday, August 23, 2026!
Following Anime Expo, our PR representative will bring you the event highlights in blog format!

[Event Overview]

■Event Name: Anime NYC 2026
■Event Dates (local time): Thursday, August 20, 2026 - Sunday, August 23, 2026
■Venue: Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
■Exhibit Location: [Exhibit Hall] Booth#361 (at JAST and J18 Publishing)

At this event, in addition to Touhou Project original games, we brought numerous products—far too many to list here—including Gift Co., Ltd.’s “FumoFumo Plush,” the new “Touhou Project” product “FumoFumo T-shirts,” event-exclusive products, and official “NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD” character goods, to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center!

[Off to New York!]

About 13 hours from Haneda Airport, we finally caught sight of the skies over New York!
By the way, this is a beautiful Japanese sunset.

And we arrived at the airport!

Overwhelmed by the real “New York” scenery that we had only ever seen on TV, we took trains and buses to the venue, the Javits Convention Center!

This is... New York...!!

High-rise buildings everywhere.

And we arrived! A large glass-walled interior—this is still the entrance (!?). We head farther inside from here toward the venue!

[Let’s Set Up the Booth]

So, in preparation for the upcoming event, we began setting up the booth in advance!
We took supplies and products out of a large number of cardboard boxes and carefully displayed them in the booth one by one.

First up, the main attraction: FumoFumo! We made baskets from wire mesh and prepared for sales. In front of them, we also prepared music CDs including Touhou Project original games and the Seihou Club series, as well as our own acrylic keychains!

The remaining T-shirts, tote bags, towels, acrylic stands, and more... We carefully displayed every product.

Using Anime Expo as a reference, it gradually came closer to completion...

Complete!!!

It did not all fit in the photo, but various NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD goods were also displayed on the left. Preparations continued smoothly, and we were able to welcome the first day of the event without any issues!
The huge sandwich we ate after setup was exquisite
...flavor!! It is truly regrettable that there are no photos.

[Special Guest: Mito Nagishiro!]

At the AKIBA-HOBBY booth, we welcomed the immensely popular illustrator “Mito Nagishiro” as a special guest, and held a signing event + shikishi sales corner! In this ultra-luxurious event, those who purchased both art books received a signature directly from Mito-sensei, and it was a huge success from the first day through the last! Even the writer, who was selling items at the booth, could not help but be captivated by the wonderful shikishi on display.

Furthermore, a talk event was held on the 21st, the second day of the event,An episode from illustrator Mito Nagishiro herself about becoming an illustratorAnd many other valuable stories were shared!

[A Gathering of Cosplayers!]

Just as you'd expect from AnimeNYC! So many cosplayers visited our booth. Here, we would like to introduce the cosplayers who gave us permission to feature them!First, a Murasa cosplayer! She purchased a circle's music CD at the AKIBA-HOBBY booth, so we snapped a photo together! The CD jacket also featured Murasa, and her high-quality costume showedher subtle yet unmistakable love for the character!

Next, a Reimu cosplayer! When we asked if we could take a photo, she suddenly pulled out an ofuda from her robe!!She was undoubtedly the real Hakurei shrine maiden...!

Last but not least, a Reisen cosplayer! She was a kind cosplayer whose recreation was perfect right down to the bunny ears! She happily agreed to a photo, and thatUdonge smile. Simply the best.

[And Then, Pack-Up]

The end was finally drawing near. We received so many kind words from visitors each day, and the AKIBA-HOBBY booth was able to conclude successfully amid great turnout!

Before we could bask in the afterglow... it was time to start packing up!It isn't over until you get home from AnimeNYC, after all.

Thank you! AnimeNYC!

And with that, the AKIBA-HOBBY team wrapped up and headed out. Great work, everyone!
Many visitors stopped by, and our staff enjoyed the atmosphere on site while assisting everyone.

We plan to continue posting reports on our participation in and exhibits at various events, so we hope you will look forward to future events as well!

Next Phantasm...
