下著雪的冬日博麗神社。
雖然曾因地震而倒塌，但如今已完全恢復成原本的模樣。

就在某一天，博麗神社的巫女博麗靈夢遇到了一件令人驚訝的事。
那是出現在博麗神社附近、突然升起的白色柱狀物，也就是間歇泉。
平時只要發生什麼事情，她就會前去解決，但那件事同時也讓她
感到驚訝，並且高興。

間歇泉本應融化積雪，並在周圍湧出能治癒人類與妖怪疲勞的溫泉。

——然而，靈夢的樂觀推測落空了。
從間歇泉中湧出的，並不只是溫泉水。
接連湧出的異形之物。

地靈——是住在地底下的人們。

【About Touhou Project system requirements】
Basically, if your PC runs Windows, the current titles can be launched, but
older titles such as Touhou Koumakyou, Youyoumu, and Eiyashou may not start properly depending on the conditions at launch.

Hakurei Shrine in the snowy winter.
Although the shrine had once collapsed due to an earthquake, it has now completely regained its original form.

Then one day, something surprising happened to Reimu Hakurei, the shrine maiden of Hakurei Shrine.
It was a sudden white pillar rising near Hakurei Shrine, a geyser.
Normally, when something happens, she goes to solve it, but this event was something that
surprised her and, at the same time, pleased her.

The geyser was supposed to melt the snow, and hot springs that would heal the fatigue of both humans and youkai were supposed to spring up around it.

--However, Reimu's optimistic prediction was wrong.
What was gushing from the geyser was not only hot spring water.
Strange beings kept emerging one after another.
