A concept mini-album singing traditional Irish and Scottish tunes with Celtic flutes, the "Tin Whistle" and "Low Whistle." Bringing you soft and healing tones.
1. Londonderry Air
An old melody from Northern Ireland, believed to have existed since the late 18th century.
It became globally known with various lyrics, including "Danny Boy."
2. The Deer’s March
A traditional Irish march. Included in Francis O'Neill's 1903 'Music of Ireland.'
The origin is unknown, but the melody passed down orally is reproduced with the Low Whistle.
3. The Water Is Wide
A traditional folk song of British-Scottish origin. A 17th-century Scottish ballad
derived from "O Waly, Waly," it evolved through various lyrics and melodies to its current form.
4. Annie Laurie
A representative Scottish folk song. Based on a poem by William Douglas (1672?-1748),
composed by Lady John Douglas Alicia Scott (1810-1900).
Annie Laurie was a beautiful woman known throughout Scotland at the time, mutually in love with William,
but they could not be united without her father's permission.
5. Wild Mountain Thyme
A folk song arranged in the 1950s by Francis McPeake, based on the 19th-century poet Robert Tannahill's "The Braes of Balquhither."
In Scotland, young women had a custom of wearing thyme, mint, and lavender to attract suitors.
Also known as "Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go."
